Who Are We?
Atonement Lutheran Church was originally
formed by a group of residents who got together for praying and
bible studying at the Cranbrook Elementary School, North-West side
of Columbus, Ohio. Later, in 1966 they decided to buy a piece of
property, a landscape of six acres, to build a new home for worship
and fellowship... And then the first facility was dedicated on June
30, 1968 to the Glory of God. We are proud of and grateful for a
great number of the chartered members of the Atonement Lutheran
Church who from the beginning until now have faithfully served at
His Sanctuary.
As time goes by, though Atonement Lutheran is the name of our
Church, but we are just like you, we come from all walks of life,
diverse backgrounds, cultures, races, social and interests - we come
together in a family "One Lord, One Faith and One Baptism" to share
God's love among one another and with others.

Concerning
the greatest gift, love, our church sign carries God's
Word to the world: "Love Never Gives Up", in full color, in the
form of a ship plying the blue waters.
It is our hope that God's
love for us, a love that we see in the life of His Son, will settle,
strengthen, and uplift us as we continue congregational life in the
Lord's house.

Atonement Lutheran Church became a member of The Lutheran Church
- Missouri Synod (www.lcms.org),
a church family of 2.6 Million members in 6,145 Congregations. Also,
our Church is a member of a body of local Community Churches: Church
of God, Methodist, Presbyterian, ...we work together in many
aspects: spiritual, social, cultural as well as educational for
the welfare of the people in the community.
The first pastor was Rev. James Koehler from 1966 to 1973. Rev. Daniel C. Bell
